Glance is a smart accessory for your watch that tells you who is calling, helps you find your phone, enables motion control and has activity tracking.
It’s currently a prototype that will effectively turn a regular watch into a slimmed down version of a Smartwatch. It’s design by Kiwi Wearables, a startup based in Toronto, Canada. You simply tuck this little accessory behind your exsisting watch and it provides useful feedback from your phone like incoming calls and text messages, as well as using track movement to become a remote control for your smart TV.
At first glance it doesn’t look like anything super special, I mean it’s cool but why this accessory over a fully functioning Smartwatch? well I think the battery life could answer that question – Glance designers created it to last for a week without charging, which is huge when compared to Smartwatches – that general need to be charged daily.
Glance also uses a 3D motion detector for measuring movement, turning it into a device that can track steps you’ve taken or how many miles you’ve biked – and it’s waterproof!
Glance is currently available on Kickstarter with an early-bird price tag of $70.00 which I think is pretty reasonable, they’re looking to raise $150,000 by July 3rd to fund the project.
Glance is precision crafted into a remarkably thin, light design with machined aluminium, fits on the wristband on your watch, and works well with your personal style.
